Hello citizens of Opelousas,
As we move into the Easter holiday and begin to look forward to the smiles we see on the faces of our children, we must continue to move ahead and follow safety protocols related to COVID-19.
Being mindful of these protocols, there will be NO large Easter events or activities allowed in the South & North Parks this Easter weekend. Also, both parks will be closed on Easter Sunday. We, the administration and OPD, are enforcing and keeping safety guidelines in place because COVID is still prevalent in our community and all citizens’ safety as it pertains to all public health issues are our concerns.
Let each of us be conscious in reminding ourselves that this pandemic has viciously altered our traditional way of life. We will not reverse the positive forwardness that we have achieved. We thank everyone for their understanding and cooperation.
