Message from Opelousas Police Dept. Regarding Parade Barricade Set Up for Creole Festival Parade


The Opelousas Police Department would like to inform the public that barricades along the Creole Festival Parade Route will be secured in place at some point during the early morning hours of November 3, 2019. This will cause cross traffic on city streets along the route on US Hwy. 190 and LA. 182 to be closed off until the parade is completed. The barricades will be opened as soon as possible to allow for the regular flow of traffic. (see parade route below)

Holy Ghost Creole Festival PARADE

November 3, 2019
line-up beginning at 11:00 a.m. and parade beginning at 12:00 noon.

Line-up will begin at the Farmers’ Market and go back as far as the Post Office. The parade will start at the Farmers’ Market, head west on Landry Street, turn north on Union Street, continue on Union Street, turn west on Church Street to the light, make a right turn at the light heading north on Main Street, to disband in the parking lot of Food Liner parking lot.
