– Opelousas Main Street, Inc. and the City of Opelousas Tourism are excited to present the 2018 collectible holiday ornament which features the historic Prudhomme Home. This French Colonial Creole home is believed to be the oldest structure still located in its original location in St. Landry Parish. Tradition states that the plantation type home was built in the 1770s by wealthy land owner and member of the Opelousas Militia, Jean Michel Prudhomme.
